Corey is a fierce advocate for Community Engagement.
“Leadership transcends the confines of the office, and I believe in actively giving back to the community. Throughout my career as a lawyer for creatives and businesses, I have actively engaged in various pro-bono endeavors, dedicated countless hours to supporting artists, art organizations, and small business start-ups, and served on the boards in leadership positions of multiple arts-oriented organizations including the Springfield Regional Arts Council, Landers Theatre – Springfield Little Theatre, Springfield Contemporary Theatre, and also the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools. By leveraging my legal knowledge to support the creative community in need, I have demonstrated a commitment to the betterment of society and the advancement of justice beyond the boundaries of my professional responsibilities.
My commitment to pro-bono work has allowed me to contribute my legal expertise to individuals and organizations who may not have the means to afford legal services. Over the years, I have dedicated countless hours to providing free legal advice, assistance, and representation to artists, helping them navigate business issues, contract negotiations, and intellectual property matters. By doing so, I have empowered creatives to protect their work, make informed decisions, and thrive in their respective industries.
In addition to my pro-bono work for artists, I have actively supported various art organizations. Through board service, I have lent my strategic insights, legal acumen, and business expertise to guide these organizations in their mission to foster creativity, promote artistic expression, and provide valuable resources to the community. My involvement in these boards has allowed me to contribute to the development of policies, programs, and initiatives that benefit artists, the wider artistic community, and have an economic impact on the community at large.
Furthermore, my commitment to education and community service led me to join a foundation dedicated to supporting public schools. As a board member for the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools, I have played an instrumental role in advocating for arts education, securing resources for underprivileged schools, and promoting the importance of creativity in fostering well-rounded individuals. Through my involvement, I have actively worked to bridge the gap in arts education, ensuring that young minds have access to opportunities that nurture their artistic talents, spark their imagination, and foster life-long transferrable skills no matter what their career path.
These commitments reflect my deep-rooted belief in the power of creativity, the importance of equal access to legal resources, and the transformative potential of arts education.”
